Eye Check-Up Camp
On 20th December 2024, Achchhe Padosi (Good Neighbors Bharat), in collaboration with Bharti Eye Hospital, Okhla, organized an eye check-up camp at SVBP School, Tughlakabad Extension. The camp aimed to provide essential eye health screenings for students, teaching staff, and support staff, with a focus on identifying refractive errors and other common eye conditions. The initiative also sought to mobilize support for children in need of vision correction, particularly those affected by refractive errors.
INCOME GENERATION
The Tailoring Training and Sewing Machine Support Program by Achchhe Padosi (Good Neighbors Bharat) aimed to empower women from underprivileged backgrounds by equipping them with practical skills to improve their livelihoods and promote self-reliance. This three-month program provided hands-on training in stitching and basic designing, focusing on skills that are in high demand within the community.
The initiative positively impacted 25 women and delivered meaningful benefits to the wider community. Prior to the program, residents often had to travel long distances to access tailoring services. With trained women now offering affordable tailoring services locally, the program has improved accessibility, reduced travel burdens, and strengthened community-based livelihoods.
